Uh oh...

Mommy is taking a break from catching up to share Kyley's eventful week.
Kyley sits in a booster chair at home when we eat.  She likes to push herself away with both her hands and feet.  Well, mommy and daddy are usually there to catch her from a topple over and we are pretty sure the chair is too heavy for her to go over.  Kyley does however move the table halfway through the kitchen every meal.
Well, Kyley also uses a booster like this when we are out.  Mommy and daddy have an extra one in the car.  It is so nice to be able to strap her in and honestly feel safer she wont fall out of the chair.  Well, the battle to get Kyley to stop kicking away from the table was lost on Wednesday night.  Kyley and mommy were at dinner at Jose Pepper's with her besties...the Taton Gals...while daddy was out of town on business.  After repeated attempts to ask her not to do it...she went over backwards.

Kyley cried out after a few seconds and mommy rushed to her side.  There was so much excitement, attention and noise in the restaurant along with the blow to the back of her head that Kyley started to zone out.  Mommy rushed her to the ER as Kyley never acts like that after a fall...she is clumsy and 2 remember.  The doctors examined her, gave her some meds and a popsicle...then sent us home with a list of instructions.  They are not sure whether or not she had a minor concussion, but they want us to treat it like it was for a few weeks.
She is doing great and was pretty much back to herself by Friday.  BUT...how do you keep a toddler from running, falling, bonking her head and being rambunctious?  Mommy and daddy would love to put her back in a bubble but she might not like that?!?!

Risky Business

"Sometimes you just gotta say what the heck"....!!!!
Mommy and daddy grew up watching movies like Risky Business, but little did they know they would have a little cool chic on their hands.
Kyley likes to sing, dance, act cool and...take her clothes off and do all of the above every night before bed.  Mommy and daddy let her.
It's better than in public, right???

Christmas in Nebraska

Daddy and mommy explained to Kyley that we were spending Christmas in Nebraska, and we most likely will every year.  So, mommy and daddy had to explain that "Santa finds you wherever you are."
This year like every year we spent time at all of our family's gatherings.  Kyley, mommy and daddy went to the Smith get together in Scribner at Grandpa Des's.  Kyley had a fun time playing with her cousins and seeing her grampy as always.
She also spent Christmas Eve at Great Grandma Dorothy's with the whole family.  Kyley was overly showered with presents, but she did not seem to mind.

Daddy, mommy and Kyley hunkered down for the holiday weekend at Grandpa Bob's farm.   Kyley had such a great time relaxing, playing and seeing what Santa brought her. She got to spend some quality time with her Grandpa...it was just what they all needed.

Kyley also got to do a little Christmas celebrating back home on Christmas Day evening with mommy and daddy.  When it was all said and done, Kyley had more than any one child needed.

It was a wonderful Christmas, and this little family is blessed to be a part of the families that we shared it with!

Holiday fun with friends

Christmas time can definitely be a lot of fun.  Mommy and Kyley definitely had some fun this holiday season with some good friends...the Taton girls.
Our Winter getaway has become Exploration Place since it is a bit cool to enjoy the zoo. The girls sure have a blast when they go.  It gives them a chance to run, explore and create...and it wears them out for the mommies:)!
Kyley got to make her first gingerbread house.  She really had fun doing it, and mommy had fun to.  Kyley didn't eat too much of the candy before it made it on the house, but she might have tried a few pieces!

Mommy, daddy and Kyley got to join the Taton family for another holiday first.  The Botanica Garden Light Show is an 11 acre area near downtown Wichita with beautiful gardens in the Spring.  However, they deck it out in lights, light shows, displays and activities for the holiday season.  We were lucky enough to have an evening with nice enough weather to venture out to see it!  The girls loved it!

Happy Holidays!

Kyley's 2nd visit with Santa

Kyley was so excited to see Santa this year.  Or she said she was?!?  Mommy and daddy both had her at the mall at different times when Santa was visiting, but she just wanted to watch him from afar.  Kyley actually got to talk to him in Mid-December at the same library as last year.  She was really eager to get there, but when it was her turn to sit on his lap Kyley was not quite as brave as she acted.
Kyley did not cry, but she was not willing to go sit by Santa alone.  So Mrs. Claus got up so that mommy could sit and join in the fun.  Kyley loved visiting him, but she did not have much to say.  He gave her a bag of goodies which she cleaned out on the ride home.  Kyley also got to enjoy some Christmas goodies from the ladies at the library.  She had no complaints there
Overall the Santa visit was well worth it, and we finished off the day with some good food and fun with friends.  Kyley loves when we have company, and she definitely entertains them!
