For the love of dance!

Kyley not only loves to sing, but she loves to dance.  However, this was not the best video as that one got deleted while she was singing and dancing on the night of the Grammy's.  Mommy was very upset as she sounded like she knew all the words and moves...this is still cute though!

Our first trip of the year to the zoo!!

Yes, mommy and Kyley already made their first trip to the zoo.  And, just as she loves the outside more now that she is older...she enjoyed the zoo more.  Kyley could not stop talking and trying to get out of her stroller.

She wanted me to let the "kitties" out of their cages.  Kyley loved watching all of the birds and animals as they also enjoyed the beautiful day.

Mommy and Kyley actually got kicked out of the zoo as it was time to close.  Kyley was walking at this time, and she got side tracked with all the new things and the geese "of course."

We cannot wait for more fun days at the zoo!

Wonderful Winter Weather

We have been super blessed the past month with some great weather.  Mommy and Kyley got to play outside more in January than we did in July due to the 100+ weather lol!  Kyley liked being outside before, but there is no comparison to how much she loves being outside now that she is older.

She loves the ducks, geese, and all birds (which are not her mommy's favorites)Kyley loves talking to the neighbors and those out walking their dogs are even better.  She loves the water, the boat, the rocks (which for some reason she insists on calling "suckers"), the decorative frogs mommy has in the yard, playing in the sand and watching for planes.

Kyley even loves watching the dump trucks hauling dirt from the house being built.  So, we had to go on a walk to get a better view.  She even enjoyed sitting in the jeep some friends gave her as it is not quite time to get it started up!

If mommy is planning to go out and run an errand, she better plan on a few minutes of play time outside.  However, Kyley has not quite figured out that it is not always nice out.  We still get out for a few minutes though!

I'm a big girl now:)!

Kyley sure acts like she is a big girl these days.  No, she is not using the potty, BUT we did get one out because she is very interested in it.  While we will continue to work on that, we will focus on all the other fun stuff that big girls do...

Like wearing flip flops for our upcoming trip in the house?

Sitting in the booster seat to eat every meal instead of her highchair by choice.
Feeding herself.

Drinking from mommy's straw cup.

Eating suckers.

What a big girl!!!!

Just another day of play

Uncle Greg came back from Houston for the weekend of his birthday, so he brought the family over for lunch while they had showings at their house.  Sadly, we had not seen Calyn in a few weeks because of sickness and busy schedules.  Fortunately, Kyley and Calyn are too young to understand a few weeks versus a few days, so they were at it immediately.

Kyley seemed to be teaching Calyn a few of her "new" tricks this time.  She also had a great time showing off her new bed.   They never lack in the "fun" department, and Kyley always hates seeing Calyn go.

Is she really ready for a big girl bed?

Well, no reason to beat around the bush.  Kyley hates her crib now, and she refuses to sleep in it.  When she was so sick during the holidays and vacation, she spent most of her time in mommy and daddy's bed...knowing it would be a decision we all paid for later.  Kyley is our world, and she gets about anything she wants.  Well, she does not want to sleep in her crib or to sleep without her mommy.  So, we thought we would shoot for the next attempt and get her bed set up as a toddler bed.  OH MY how she loves her bed now.  She climbs in it and plays with her "friends."  The first few days we could not keep her out of it.  Mommy and daddy even had to teach her how "not" to jump on beds (a new trick we taught her on vacation...how to jump on beds...lesson learned)!  Kyley even climbs in it when it is time to nap or she is tired.  What a great idea mommy and daddy had!

Hmmmm...wonder why it doesn't happen like this at bedtime???

Crazy girl

I am not sure that her daddy knew how fitting the song "Crazy Girl" by the Eli Young Band was when he started singing it to Kyley.  She is crazy in a good way.  Kyley loves to play, read, run, walk, talk, laugh, and just be silly!  Mommy and daddy have so much fun watching her learn and try new things.  Of course they get a little jumpy, but she sometimes falls and she learns (mommy does too).  Here is just a quick glimpse at some of the things Ms. Kyley has been up to this past month!
She loves to count.  Kyley likes us to open each of the 5 doors and shut them one by one as we count, over and over again.
Older toys got discovered and have become the best thing ever!
She loves her "puter" and taking "pics".
Oh my does she still love getting in the cupboard.  It is a daily or several times daily ritual.  She discovered her suckers from our vacation and had no problem opening those up!
Kyley would have freaked out months ago if you tried to put her sunglasses on, but now she likes to put them on and spin and dance in circles.
She never gets tired of "where did Kyley go?"
Blocks are sure fun to stack, but it is even more fun to sit on the box and play!
She still loves singing and dancing to "Happy Feet" and any other music!
Kyley loves to color...mommy is so thankful for washable crayons!
She likes to have her videos or music with her while she plays (i.e. mommy's phone).  Usually it is any song by the Fresh Beat Band, "Moves Like Jagger" or "Whats My Name"...as she calls it "na, na, na!"
She sure doesn't like to be in her pack 'n' play but the babies pack 'n' play is great fun.
Kyley loves to just get into and on anything she can.  I guess this is easier access to her toys?
She loves to get into her bathroom drawer, and you would be surprised what she finds in there.
As you can see...she loves that cupboard, but she is actually counting the crackers here!
And...Kyley's newest trick is getting into the kitchen drawers.  It makes you wonder where she learned to be so silly!!!!  We can only wonder what she will think of next!

Cousin Mason's 1st Birthday

On January 21st we made a trip to mommy's hometown of Scribner, NE to celebrate Kyley's cousin, Mason's, 1st birthday (1/17/11)!  He lives with Kyley's grandpa so that made it an extra special trip, along with the fact that we got to see some other close and extended family and old friends.

Mason sure had a great time.  He had so many presents to open, and he really, really got into his cake!  There were so many other fun kids and toys to play with too.  Kyley had no problem getting along with all of the boys...watch out daddy!

It was so fun to see family if even for a short time!
