Creatures of habit

Kyley may be a bit like her mommy and daddy.  Daddy could eat the same food every meal and so could Kyley.  Mommy likes a routine and so does Kyley.  And all 3 of them NEVER get tired of the same activities.
Mommy and Kyley still make their regular zoo visits.  The gorillas and baby monkey seem to be at the top of the hit list for a few reasons...they entertain and it is air conditioned in their buildings.  The other animals are often in hiding when we go, and as mommy says they probably are thinking "crazy humans".  The weather has continued to be miserably hot and dry.  Maybe we should start a routine rain dance.
The lake is suffering from the lack of rain, and it is down several more feet. Kyley's boat is sitting under the dock.  However, we are still able to get out of our channel and enjoy the pontoon.  Well, Kyley doesn't let us do much "boating"...as soon as she sees the beach she wants to go explore.
She has made a few friends this year.  One of those friends is the gorgeous yellow lab "Myley".  Mommy and daddy love watching her play and enjoy every minute of being a kid!  The Summer is going to fast!

Creative Counting

Kyley is a smart little cookie.  She has recognized all letters and shapes for awhile, she can count to 10 and sometimes a few more and many other things.  However, she does not like to do these things when asked.  Kyley would rather do everything on her own time...when mommy doesn't have the video camera ready lol!
Well, she is also a very creative little girl.  Kyley will line things up or organize things as she sees fit and count them.  Recently, she has founds some very creative ways to count.  She cleaned out daddy's wallet and counts cards...mommy said she was a smart little cookie.
And yes...she is counting her stickers that she lined up on the screen of the sliding glass door...thankfully not the glass!

Family Fun in Nebraska

Kyley is no stranger to Highway 81 and I-80 in Nebraska.  Her mommy and daddy make it obvious already that they will drive back for family activities as often as they can.  It is always fun to see family and friends, and their never seems to be enough time to see everyone we want to.  Mommy and daddy both grew up in Nebraska and went to college there, so they have a lot of people to see!
This weekend was especially SPECIAL!  It was the weekend of Auntie Mallory's baby shower in Scribner (mommy's hometown).  Kyley had so much fun!  She got to see all of her aunties and cousins, Morgan and Stella.  Kyley also got to meet some of her Great Aunts and 2nd cousins for the first time ever!
Kyley enjoyed the cake pops...they were right up her alley!  She also loved playing with her cousins and seeing her "glowing" auntie!
There was also some time for a few more visits over the weekend.  Kyley got to spend time with her cousins Josh & Luke.

She also got to visit with Grandpa Bob, Great Grandma, Great Aunt Dale and Cousin Grayson.  She loved helping feed him!
Kyley and Mommy ended their weekend with a visit from mommy's life long friend, Tia.  It was so much fun to see her, and it was a perfect end to a great weekend!
By the time mommy and Kyley got on the road...she was done.  She did manage to have some energy left for our lunch stop...and the M&M cookie may have revived her!!!

Star light, Star Bright...

Dear Family & Friends,
We love you all!  Kyley loves getting cards and so do her mommy and daddy.  Mommy keeps all of them in a basket in the kitchen/living area...birthday cards, xmas cards, thanks you's, invites, announcements whatever. Kyley loves this basket, because she loves to look at the cards and pictures.  Well, mommy wasn't thinking and wasn't fast enough...Kyley got to the bottom of the basket.  She found the card filled with tiny little stars...hundreds of them.  Mommy swept for an hour last week, and Kyley is still finding stars.
Thank you for thinking of us, but please refrain from confetti in envelopes lol!

Finally...she got a swing set!!!

Kyley is one lucky girl.  Mommy and daddy were not sure about doing it due to the simple fact that the yard is small, but they or mommy broke down and got Kyley a swing set.  It made sense...the closest park is a drive away.  She deserves to be a kid.
Well, Kyley loves it.  Mommy just wishes that the weather loved us a little more.  Metal and hard plastic are NOT cool in 100+ degree temps.  However, Kyley manages to get a few minutes in here and there.  And, she has already been able to have some fun with friends!
She thinks she is a lot bigger than she is...and she is definitely braver. Mommy and daddy will have to watch out for their daredevil.

Happy 4th of July!!!

Okay, so we are two weeks late posting about our fabulous holiday weekend at home. The 4th of July has become that holiday that we have chosen to stay in Wichita.   This decision was made prior to Kyley, but it was sort of solidified when she was brought home 2 years ago on this celebratory day.  The Kubik household will always have so many things to celebrate on this day every year.
Kyley was very blessed this year to have visitors from Iowa.  Sue and Kevin Engelking made the trek from Eldora to visit us over the 4th. They arrived on the 4th and stayed through Sunday.  We had so much fun catching up, boating, swimming, and just relaxing.  Kyley could not get enough of them and was so sad when it was time to go. Mommy and daddy are sure that Sue and Kevin were ready to get in the car and listen to something other than Kyley's 3 favorite songs.  She has a tendency to repeat things she likes (her mommy and daddy do this too)!
Kyley also had some other visitors.  She got to see her Ms. Katie and Mr. David on the 4th when they joined us for the neighborhood fireworks.  Kyley once again loved the fireworks, but she doesn't love hearing them in her room and not being able to see them lol!
The Browns came from Little Rock, AR.  So, she was able to see them when we went swimming at the Millers.  But, they also came over with the Millers to go out on the boat and have dinner at her house.  She had so much fun!  Kyley sure does not mind being one of the guys!  It is so neat to see them all together.
Her weekend was not complete until she got to see the Beckers.  Even after a long week/end or whatever you want to call it.  Kyley managed to pull out one more day of boating.  We had a warm Sunday on the lake with great friends.
Could there really be a better stay at home holiday????

Goofball with a capital G!!!

Ms. Kyley's newest thing is to ask for a napkin and wear it like a hat.  She thinks it is so darn funny, and it really kind of is.  She hides behind it, wipes her face, her hands and yes puts it back on her head.  Mommy figured out recently this signals that she is done eating lol!
Kyley is such a goofball.  She kind of likes to show off and be the center of attention sometimes.  If she figures out that people think what she is doing is funny...she keeps on doing it.
She sure has fun!   And, so do mommy and daddy!
