She's our little cheese ball!

Kyley is such a little goofy girl, and mommy and daddy love it...pretty sure anyone that meets her does too!  She is such a stinker, as has been said before, when it comes to pictures.  Kyley used to turn away, but now she closes her eyes and says "cheese."  So, needless to say,  mommy gets lots of pictures with her eyes closed and the cheesiest smiles ever!
On occasion Kyley does decide that she wants to have her picture taken, and mommy gets a good one after about 10.  Kyley kind of likes to show off too.  She gets so excited when people come over or something new happens, so she cannot stop running, smiling, dancing, going, etc.
Kyley let mommy paint her toe nails a week or so ago, but today she asked mommy to paint her finger nails.  Mommy does not do a very good job, but Kyley had so much fun and was so excited.  She had to show them off for the camera to send a picture to daddy, and it was the first thing she showed our neighbor, Melissa, when she stopped by.
She is truly a diva princess now!  Mommy cannot wait to take her for those pedicures! Look out daddy!

National Prematurity Awareness 2012

November is National Prematurity Awareness Month and more specifically this coming Saturday, November 17th, is World Prematurity Day.  The March of Dimes takes this time to focus on making people aware of the fact that too many babies are born premature.  In the US alone 1 in 8 babies is born prematurely, and they are focusing their efforts on helping families have full term, healthy babies.  It is our job to help spread the word on premature birth.  Visit www.marchofdimes.com for more information or to see how you can help!
Kyley Denise was a preemie.  She was born almost 14 weeks too soon, and she spent 10 weeks in the NICU.  Mommy and daddy cannot believe how much time has passed, and she brings a smile to their faces everyday!  Kyley is a happy, healthy 2 1/2 year old.  Our family was blessed with her life and silly, energetic personality.
Mommy, daddy and Kyley still visit her twin sister, Kyndal Desarae, quite often.  It is important for her to understand and someday she will.  Sometimes mommy and daddy think she already understands too much about her angel:)!  She loves to go to the cemetery, take Kyndal gifts, talk to her and blow her kisses.  Love and faith are amazingly powerful!

Focused and full of energy

Kyley has really turned into a "little girl."  She loves to learn, read, sing, dance, play match/memory, work on puzzles...heck, she even knows how to run the iPad.  When she is interested in something she gets so focused on that particular project, and it is so cute to see her look so serious!
Reading is still her first love, and she loves to be read to by both her daddy and mommy. Mommy and Kyley started going to the library about 2 months ago.  She loves to pick out books and bring them home.  Mommy was surprised that Kyley had no problems returning them.  She quickly grasped the concept that they were not her books.  Plus, she gets a treat every time she brings her books back on time.  But, most importantly the library in Valley Center houses a cat so that makes the visit even better.
It has been a long time since mommy and daddy were kids, so they had really only introduced her to shows on Nick Jr.   Now none of the shows that she watches on there are bad choices, but she really never "watches" tv or seems overly interested unless it has music like Fresh Beat Band, Jacks Big Music Show or when the Bubble Guppies sing.  Well, we finally realized PBS Sprout existed and had some great stuff like Sesame Street and just lots of singing.  She usually watches a show at snack time or at lunch and man oh man is she focused.  Oh, and YES...that is MILK in front of her...she has been drinking chocolate milk for a few months now...it just happened out of the blue!

Kyley had a few fun firsts this past week.  She let mommy paint her toe nails for the first time ever, and she loved it.  She did not want her feet covered for days!  Then, Kyley got her first pair of slippers, and she never wanted to take them off.
She continues to brighten our days and nights!  Kyley loves to have fun, and she sure has a lot of energy too!

More zoooooooooo!!!!

Kyley and mommy will keep visiting the zoo until there is snow on the ground, the wind chill is crazy or we start seeing our breath lol! Every time we go Kyley is instantly happy...she even dances!
She loves everything about it, and she discovers something new each time too.
A few weeks ago the baby red pandas came out for the first time and Kyley and mommy were there to see them!  It was so neat.
Friday Kyley was able to join her friends, Caroline and Annabelle, at the zoo for some fun! They had fun as always, and it was a gorgeous day.
Kyley also had her first popsicle.  She enjoyed it for a few minutes, but as soon as it started leaking down her hand she was done!
Bring on more great weather...we love the zoo!

Happy Halloween 2012

Kyley is just like her mommy in the fact that she loves Halloween.  Mommy and Kyley circled the neighborhood for weeks looking at all of the pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns, ghosts, goblins and scarecrows.
She loves all of her pumpkins, and she asked for one at every visit to the store.  However, she was not very thrilled about carving them so daddy just drew on one instead!
Kyley got Halloween themed jello jigglers from Great Aunt Dale when we were in Nebraska in early October.  Mommy and Kyley had so much fun making them, and daddy got to eat them.  Kyley again was not to thrilled about eating skulls, spiders, bats and pumpkins lol!
Last Sunday Kyley, mommy and daddy visited Applejacks Pumpkin Patch.  Kyley had a great time.  She would have ridden the train all afternoon, but mommy and daddy limited it to 3 times.  Kyley and daddy went down the big slide a bunch and shot pumpkins from a slingshot and gun!  She had fun in the "corn meal (maize lol)" and seeing all the kids!
Mommy and daddy were not sure how she would handle trick or treating this year.  Well, there was no reason to worry.  Kyley wanted to put her "Hello Kitty" costume on and go trick or treat at 7:30AM.   She was out for about 2 hours that night, and she was not happy to come home.  But, she loved helping hand out candy and hated to see all the kids leave.
Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!

2 and 1/2 years old....REALLY???

On October 28th, 2012, Kyley Denise was 2 1/2 years old!  It is almost unbelievable that this goofball could be rounding that corner to 3.  Mommy even found herself looking into preschools recently!
Where does time go?  It is not worth missing a moment!

Visit from Texas

Kyley was so excited that Aunt Emily and Calyn were coming to visit from Houston a few weeks ago.  Mommy had to wait to tell her because she would ask every day.  However, mommy told her on Monday, and Kyley did not see them until Friday.  It was a long week.
Friday we joined them at the zoo...our favorite place!  When Kyley and Calyn saw each other they ran right for each other, hugged and grabbed hands.  They were pretty much inseparable all throughout the visit to the zoo.  It was so much fun.
Kyley, mommy and daddy were planning on joining them over the weekend at the pumpkin patch and to play.  But, Mr. Sick and Sicker decided to visit both households.  Kyley had to go in for a Saturday visit to the doctor where mommy and daddy learned she had an ear infection, tonsilitis and a cold.  We knew this wasn't going to go well for weekend activities together, but we found out across town they were hit by a stomach bug.  Needless to say, we did not get to see them again while they were here, but Kyley sure enjoyed the time she got with Calyn at the zoo!

Is it really Fall???

You would never know by the gorgeous weather that it is Fall.  Kyley and mommy have been taking advantage of the 70+ degree temps and getting outside.  The only way we know it is Fall is by the fallen leaves, gorgeous colors of trees, and all of the great decorations on the houses.
Kyley and mommy take a walk every day if we can to look at all the pretty Fall decor.  She also plays in the backyard and on the swing set every chance she gets.  Kyley could swing for hours!  She loves to look at the clouds and watch the airplanes cross overhead.
Kyley loves the moon.  Mommy and daddy are always on the hunt for the moon...during the day, night, rain, clouds...it does not matter.  Kyley picks out the moon in every book, magazine, show, etc.  Mommy and daddy now know more about the moon and it's phases than they every imagined.
Kids are amazing!  Fall is amazing!  We love this time of year!
