A getaway from the cold

Kyley is already a lot like her mommy...it seems they do develop personalities based on who they spend most of their time with:)!  She doesn't love the snow and cold either.  So, we are very lucky to have a place like The Exploration Place we can go burn off or run off some energy.

It usually is pretty quiet there the time of day Kyley and mommy visit.  So, Kyley gets first dibs on about everything.  She loves the planes, tractor, reptiles, sand, tornado, train, and whatever else they have.

The most recent "new" exhibit was/is about animation and cartoons.  She could not figure out where the lights went??  Kyley and mommy also always take their lunch and enjoy looking out on the Arkansas River;)!

Kyley and mommy have to stop and watch the pendullum swinging and check out the solar system before they leave.  She is still fascinated by the moon!

Have we mentioned she is a bit girly???

Kyley is actually a lot like her mommy...a lot girly and a little bit tomboy too.  It's a happy balance.
She loves her dolls, and she is so into dressing them up, bathing them and strolling them around.
Kyley cannot get enough dress up, and she likes to entertain.

Mommy and daddy are pretty lucky to have her around!

Klepto Kitty

It is not even a joke.  Princess the Kitty is a Klepto.  She runs off with anything and everything of Kyley's...or anyone's.  If she can bat it far enough and fit it in her mouth WATCH OUT!
Mommy, daddy and Kyley are constantly amazed at how fast and sneaky she is.  At least we have learned where to find things.

Here, for example, Princess took a cheerio right out of Kyley's bowl.
Would you believe she did such a thing...lol?  Usually she runs off to play with it but cheerios can go either way:)!

Kyley's 1st REAL Snow

In mid to late February Wichita set some records in regards to snowfall.  The first storm dropped 14.2 inches starting the day we landed from Scottsdale, AZ (great welcome home gift).  The second storm a week later dropped another 6.8 inches totaling 21 inches.  The storms broke a record that was exactly 100 years old: 20.5 inches of snow fell in February 1913.
Kyley did not get out much her first year, and we honestly did not have snow to speak of other than a light dusting here or there until this big storm system.  Therefore, Kyley did not own snow boots or snow pants...she of course had a coat and accessories because it still can get cold.  Mommy got laughed at by most stores trying to buy that stuff so late in the season and here in general, but thanks to our wonderful friends Ms. Tracy, Caroline and Annabelle...we were set to go.
Daddy got both of her sleds out from Great Aunt Dale and Grandpa Bob for their first uses and sadly probably last of the season.  Kyley and mommy are not sure who had more fun in the snow...daddy or Kyley...it for sure was not mommy.

Kyley and Daddy built a snowman too.  The poor guy was on his side the next day, but we sure made the memory!

Interestingly enough Kyley asked if she could eat snow...not sure what possessed her, but she sure enjoyed that too!
The funniest part of all the playing was Kyley thinking we could end the fun with a boat ride.  She did get to lounge in her sun chair!
Mommy hates snow and cold, daddy seems to love it, and Kyley made much needed memories in it!

Tagging along with daddy to Scottsdale, AZ

Kyley and mommy have been so lucky to be able to tag along with daddy on a trip to Scottsdale, AZ the past 2 years.  Not only is the weather and scenery AMAZING in mid-February but we don't have to miss out on all that daddy time.

Daddy was able to sneak away a few times.

Mommy and Kyley had so much fun at the railroad park again riding the train and carousel!

The weather was in the 70's so even though it wasn't HOT...Kyley insisted on swimming every day.   So, mommy and daddy made it happen if even just for a few minutes (mostly because they were cold and her lips were purple)!

Kyley and mommy chilled in the room and just had some down time.

Mommy and Kyley got out for runs and walks and enjoyed the breathtaking and also fun scenery.

The absolute best part about this trip is that we get to see the Dames family.  Jill, Wayne, Talan, Brooklyn and Chase had the 3 of us over for dinner one evening.  Kyley and Talan were nonstop the entire evening.
Mommy and Kyley got to also join Jill and Talan at the Phoeniz Children's Museum on Monday for a morning of fun!  It was so great to get to see the kids together and to catch up again with old friends.
Kyley and mommy are pretty sure that even if daddy doesn't have a conference there next year that he will be tagging along with them!
