My first trip to Iowa

Little did Ms. Kyley know that her mommy and daddy lived in small town Iowa for a few years.  They made some wonderful friends there so they often go back to visit...well they used to go more often, but the past couple of years' events hindered them from going.  So, we made our first road trip to Eldora, IA on the weekend of October 21st, 2011, to stay with the Brights (Laurie, Mike, Hadley and Palmer).  Mommy and daddy had not been up to visit since their wedding 3 years ago, so it was a highly anticipated visit!  Kyley's friend, Hadley, just celebrated her first birthday on October 13th, so we had to go deliver her gifts!

So, this trip was REALLY interesting as there are a lot of Iowa Hawkeye fans in the area.  Now that we are in the BIG 10...it brought a bit more spice to the normal football Saturday.  Nebraska successfully dominated Minnesota while we were there so WHEW that helped the trip tremendously.  Sadly for poor Palmer the Auburn Tigers didn't have such a good day...but, Kyley sure enjoyed him anyway!!!!

It was a lot of fun for Kyley to get to meet some of mommy and daddy's friends for the first time, and I think they enjoyed her too.  

Kyley and Hadley had not seen each other since June, so they sure were having fun playing and tearing the house apart.  Kyley also decided that the Jenny Jump Up was so much fun for swinging...I guess I missed that one when I was buying Babies R Us last year lol.  And, we learned that Kyley was infatuated with deer, antelope and bears...if you know what I mean...all of our friends are hunters.

All in all we had a great weekend.  Mommy and daddy saw some great friends.  Kyley saw her friend, Hadley and finally met her favorite entertainer, Palmer.  The weather was beautiful, and we got to enjoy a walk around Pine Lake (another one of mommy and daddy's favorite things to do)!
