Kyley's Hangouts

Kyley loves to be around other kids, but there is no doubt she likes to play by herself.  Mommy and daddy truly feel she is more creative and imaginative because of this.

She loves to kick her babies out of their playpen and hang out in in for extended periods of time. Sure it may not be safe, but she just sits there and talks, reads, does puzzles, whatever she can reach or do...  So, it is hard to be overly concerned lol!

Kyley also loves her princess house.  We actually got her this at Christmas time, but due to the sheer volume of toys (and large ones) she received we never pulled it out.   Well mommy was feeling bad the other day when it was too hot in the afternoon to go to the zoo so she drug it out.  Kyley loves to drag things in there and play.  What a great gift, right???

Working for the Weekend

Is it Friday yet?  Almost!!!!  Kyley loves her weekends.  She knows that her daddy is home for 2 full days.  Kyley wakes up and wants to see her daddy, go on the boat and have some fun!  She loves, loves, loves being outside even in the wind and the heat.  Kyley loved sporting her new swimsuit from her friend, Hadley!  She got lots of compliments on the beach and sure wore it well!

Her newest thing is wanting to take her "dress" or shirt off when she plays in the basement.  The couch is a bit higher down there and her daddy felt it got in her way and was dangerous one day.  So, we let her take it off to play, and she sported her cute undershorts and HEALTHY belly.

Well, the problem is....she wants to take her clothes off every time we play downstairs now.  Oh my what have daddy (yes he is the real culprit) and mommy started???

Monkeying Around

Well, technically that is Kyley talking to the gorillas at the zoo, but gorilla-ing around is not really a saying!  Mommy and Kyley have been so busy lately between getting dressed up all pretty for mommy's work, going to the zoo, going swimming or holding down the fort at home.  No matter where we are Kyley sure is goofy!  But, mommy and daddy must be goofy too as she likes to call them silly or goofballs!

Kyley likes to get up, down, into and all around everything and she does really well...almost too well for a little girl like her!  

She is a true "Dancing Queen" and her new favorite songs are "Drunk on You" by Luke Bryan which she refers to as "Boom-Boom," "Domino" by Jessie J., "Takin Pills" by the Pistol Annies and anything by the Fresh Beat Band.  Of course the CMT Country Music Awards influenced a few of these and we get to watch and dance to them over 10 times a day.  This does not include the fact that we only listen to about 4-5 songs in the car over and over...yes, the above songs!  

Kyley sure has some spunk and she never wants to miss a beat.  With that being said we usually have an over tired household by the end of the week.  TGIF is a regular statement in our home!

Road trip to Buffalo County, Nebraska

Well, it is no surprise this post is coming a bit late as the Summer is flying by.   Three weeks ago Kyley made her first trip to Kearney, NE to visit her Auntie Kimmy, Unkie Darby, Zane and Tori.  Mommy and daddy could hardly believe the last time they were in Kearney was when mommy was only a few months pregnant.  It was a much needed trip, and it was a great reason too...to celebrate Auntie Kim's promotion to full professor at UNK.  Kyley was so excited to see everyone.

The kids got to have some fun at the water fountains and on the play gyms in the park.  Kyley loves water so we knew it was right up her alley.  Her daddy wasn't quite ready for what the fountains had in store, but it was a hot day so it all worked out okay:)!  Kyley also wasn't impressed with the wind or the fact that we had to leave!

Kyley got to really ENJOY one of mommy and daddy's favorite Nebraska restaurants, Valentino's.  She ate like a 2 year old at a pizza buffet should!  She really enjoyed spending time with all of her cousins, but she especially enjoyed the extra attention she got from her cousin, Morgan!

It was a fun trip, and Kyley cannot wait for the next time we go!  She even saw the Great Archway as we drove under it on I-80!

Summer, Summer, Summertime

Well, technically it is not Summer yet, but we have been making the most of it!  Although we only live in Kansas we really have great weather for Summer activities.   We can boat and swim pretty early as long as the wind isn't blowing 20+ mph which it often is!!!  But, we have the zoo and the zoo is a great outing anyway.

Kyley continues to love all of these activities.  She is truly a WATER BABY!!!  Once we let her play in the water, she cannot get enough of it.  She likes to explore the beach area and find new things.

The gorillas and monkeys still rank at the top of Kyley's list when we visit the zoo.  I think it is because mommy lets her get out of the stroller and talk to them.  She really enjoys EVERY single animal, and she knows if we skip one.

We bought her a wading pool for the backyard, and she sure had a blast.  It has a little fountain and she loves to fill buckets and dump them out.  Kyley is her mommy's daughter for sure.  They both love one thing...fun in the sun!!!!

It looks like the Kubik's have a fun Summer ahead!
