Meeting Lakynn

Kyley and mommy were so lucky to have had the chance to meet our new cousin and niece, Lakynn Harper Smith.  Auntie Emily, Uncle Greg and Cousin Calyn welcomed her into their family on January 17th @ 2:27 P.M.  She weighed 6 lbs. 5 oz. and was 19 1/4 inches long.

Not only was Kyley so excited to meet the new baby...she was excited to see her long lost bestie and cousin, Calyn.  It is so cute to see how much they miss each other and love being together.  Of course...it is obvious they can cause trouble too.

Kyley was very interested in finding ways to take baby Lakynn home with us.  In fact she made a comment on the way over to visit the 2nd time as follows, "mommy do you think you can get baby Lakynn in the car?"  Mommy wouldn't have minded figuring that one out lol!

Last Minute Trek to NE

Sometimes the last minute trips can be the most fun.  We were originally supposed to go to NE another weekend, but once again the wonderful illness of the Season (not Kyley though) kept us from going.  So, we made a trip in early February.

Don't be fooled though...Kyley does not sleep much in the car.  Mommy and daddy told her she had to take a nap if she wanted to stay up late and play.

Although it was a quick trip Kyley got to help cousin Morgan celebrate her 13th birthday. She even decided to entertain the other lunch goers with a little dance.

Kyley also got to help Grant celebrate his birthday and see a bunch of other family at the Meyers.  She sure loves her cousins and can't get enough of them.

So although she decided sleep wasn't on the top of her list for the quick weekend, but Kyley surprised mommy and daddy with a 2 1/2 hour nap on the way home.

She sure knows how to party!!!

Tons O'Fun

Kyley always seems to be having a blast...

Especially when other people are around...

She is a bit of a "Social Butterfly."

She loves to play outside...

She loves her new kitty.

Dancing is her all time fav...

Reading is 2nd best.

And she really loves surprise visitors like her Uncle Brian who was in town for business and stopped by and read books with her.

Kyley loves to have fun, but she she also still loves to snuggle when she isn't feeling the best...cannot wait for this season to be over!!

Kyley's 1st Haircut

Yes, Kyley is going to be 3 in less than 3 months, but she just had her first haircut. Heck...she just started getting a bunch of hair lol! However, mommy's hairstylist said it would be beneficial to cut off the ends in order to help it grow and be healthy. She actually told mommy to just do it at bath time, but HA that was not happening.

So, Kyley had her first haircut last week.  It was so cool because daddy happened to be down the street at the dentist so he stopped by.

And, yes...those are pigtails!!!

Just being a girl

Mommy has said it before and will say it a million times.  Kyley is all girl.  

She loves her dress up clothes, and she even loves to carry on imaginary conversations on the phone in her kitchen.

She loves to try on mommy's clothes.

Kyley loves to indulge in her chocolate.

She just loves being a girl and a kid!

Princess Catness...

...or Katniss, according to the Hunger Games (which we think her original owners named her after) joined our family just over 3 weeks ago.  Either way Kyley has been wanting a kitty for a long time.   Mommy and daddy have tried to convince her otherwise but no matter what she wanted a kitty.  Well, after weeks of searching for the right kitty...we found Catness (renamed Princess Catness by Kyley).

Most of the other kittens we found either hissed or ran away from Kyley...or they were obviously just plan afraid of her.  Princess Catness was her soul mate, and mommy saw it from the moment they met. Kyley walked right in, they made contact, bumped heads, and the rest was history.

Kyley loves her kitty, and her kitty loves her.  Princess sleeps with Kyley in her bed, and she lets Kyley do things to her a normal cat would bite and claw her way out of.

Princess drops to the floor for Kyley to pet her and chases her around to play.

Mommy and daddy were not sure about another cat after the late Mr. Kitty (may he rest in peace) and the evil Freddy (happy at his new home), but they could not be happier with Princess Catness.  She is one happy kitty, and they have one happy little girl.

Play Guitar

It is no secret that Kyley loves music.  She loves to sing, dance and play any instrument real or fake.  Mommy and daddy sing and dance day and night.  Kyley has been saying she wanted a guitar from about the time she could talk.  So mommy and daddy didn't think it was fair to hold her back from reaching her dreams...I mean come on...she could be the next Taylor Swift or Sheryl Crow right?
