A Super Saturday

Saturday is arguably the best day of the week.  I would have a debate with anyone that says differently.  Most people have the full day off and Sunday too, so there is no worrying about rushing back to work.  It is also College Football game day and when the weather is nice...the opportunities for fun are limitless!!!

We had a full day this past Saturday...a boat ride, walk in the wagon, and a Husker game! The weather was perfect and the company was, of course, wonderful!  Cousin Calyn came over; therefore, Kyley's day was made.  The girls had so much fun driving the boat, exploring and playing around.  Calyn was not too impressed with the life jacket, and Kyley felt a bit overdressed for the sunny day.  After naps they enjoyed their walk and Husker game fun!

It truly was a Super Saturday!  And, although close at times...the Husker's pulled out their 2nd win so we were one happy family!

Growing up and getting into everything...

Kyley changes so much every day.  She is truly growing up and along with that comes the curiosity and short attention span of a toddler.  I cannot look away and she has moved on to something new or is climbing on something that she shouldn't be climbing on.  I think sometimes she forgets that she is not walking yet and is not invincible.  Either way it is fun to capture these moments and simply let her be a kid as long as she isn't REALLY hurting anyone or anything.

This little girl truly amazes her mommy and daddy with every little thing she says (which is a lot) and does (which is get into everything).  We couldn't not be more in love with her and more proud of how far she has come, and we do not take any minute, hour or day for granted with her.

Labor Day Living

Labor Day weekend was a relaxing weekend when we all found time to relax.  The best part of the weekend was that it was the 1st College Football Saturday of the year.  In our house...this is a day we have looked forward to since the Championship game in January.  This time of year could be it's own season...College Football Season.  We take it serious in our house...not only because we are Husker fans, but we are truly football fans.  We make sure to get all of our work and workouts done first thing in the morning along with Kyley getting in her few shows.  Then we all get dressed in our favorite Husker gear, makes some snacks and hunker down for the day whether or not our game is early or late.  Kyley seems to enjoy this just as much as mommy and daddy...especially when Cousin Calyn comes over to play.

The three of us (Kyley, mommy and daddy) spent some quality time together over the holiday weekend.  They learned or realized that their allergies were full blown colds...and some allergies too.  So, they hoped they did not get Calyn sick and made sure to keep their distance from everyone else so they didn't get them sick too.  They still had a great time playing, relaxing and even going out on a boat ride.  This is all what makes life worth living right...???

Twice the Trouble

Whew...I know I always say it but time sure gets away from us.  It has been a week and a half since I posted, and I could post for hours to catch up.  So, I will post all of the fun stuff!

Cousin Calyn came to hang out with us two Fridays ago because her sitter was sick.  So, we were so excited to have her here...it had been MONTHS since just the 3 of us had hung out.  Kyley was so happy to see her that she was literally squealing.  It is always so much fun to see the two of them together.  They change so much so fast, and they have some new interest or liking for each other every time.

Kyley and Calyn are both so cute and sweet, but they are twice the trouble for sure.  You can just see it in their little eyes and smiles.  They almost seem to be plotting against mommy (or Aunt Carey) at times.  It only took them about 20 minutes to have every book and toy out of it's original resting place.  Honestly, we are used to that so it was just easier that way...then they knew what they had to work with.

The two of them were very in sync that day.  They wanted the same toys, food, cup, etc.  Kyley and Calyn also could not leave each other's side...they literally were sitting on each other at times.  Kyley ate Calyn's lunch and Calyn ate Kyley's lunch...they did not care.  It was so funny to watch them crawl around the love seat and chase after one another.  And, they of course fought over some of the toys too!

We truly will have to watch out for these two in the years to come.  They already know too well how to break hearts and wrap fingers;)!

Nurse Holly

"You meet people who forget you.
You forget people you meet.
But sometimes you meet those people you can't forget.
Those are your friends."

Tuesday Kyley and mommy went to visit someone that has become very special to them.  Holly was one of Kyley's nurses in the NICU.  She went above and beyond her duties as a nurse to take care of Kyley and make sure the best choices were made for her.  Holly also had to put up with a lot of crap from Kyley's mommy and daddy for the 10 weeks she was in the NICU.  We are not sure if she really truly understands how much the things she did meant or mean to us.  What we do know is that whether she wants us or not, she made a family of lifelong friends:)!

Holly has a little boy named Logan who is almost 2.  And, the most exciting news is that she has another little man on the way.  She has been on bed rest for the past few weeks, so we decided to take her lunch and let Kyley and Logan have a "play date".  They were so cute together, and once again Kyley was passing out the kisses to another boy.  What will we do with her?

We cannot wait to meet Baby Boy Taylor and share many more fun times with all of them!
