Kyley recently had a few more really fun firsts. It is so amazing to watch her get to be a kid and be able to see how the littlest things get her so excited.
Kyley had her first sucker a few weeks ago. We agreed to let her have it (or mommy more so than daddy) to distract her while we were finishing our dinner out and she wanted to run around. It definitely worked. Kyley loved her sucker, and she was so proud of herself. What a big girl she is!!
Kyley also had her first drink of pop. She decided she wanted to drink out of mommy's sonic cup. Well, the first time she did it had water in it, so she loved carrying it around like a big girl. The next time she wanted a drink it was pop. Needless to say she did not like it, and it was too bad that she had on a white shirt.
Mommy and daddy cannot wait to watch her experience all these "firsts". It truly is the best thing ever to be a parent!
Kyley loves her kitty, Freddy. He likes her a lot too. They have so much fun together...always side by side. Freddy is the funniest kitty...he plays with her toys more than she does sometimes. Kyley doesn't seem to mind. They definitely go together well!
What does not go together...a toddler, a cat and a Christmas tree!! Our poor Christmas tree was done for after this year. Kyley did really well nicely touching or looking at the tree until she would see Freddy playing in it...and even then she did not do any lasting damage. However, the same cannot be said for Freddy...it was his favorite toy. We may have to rethink the tree and/or ornaments next year!
Well, we had heard all of the stories of how kids react to Santa...some good, most bad when they are little. Kyley had been talking about Santa for weeks, so we thought maybe there was a chance it would be a good experience for her. Well, we went with the Millers to visit Santa when he was at the Park City library. Kyley saw him right away and kept repeating his name. She kept wanting to walk over to see him. He waved at her once and she responded with a hand in the mouth...still not sure. When it was finally her turn to meet Santa...she did awesome...until daddy set her on his lap. It was over. I guess we will try again next year. The Miller boys seemed to enjoy seeing him their second time around...hopefully Kyley will too!
Where did the month of December go? Kyley has been such a busy little girl! She is now 20 months old...rounding the corner to the Big 2!!
Kyley keeps mommy and daddy busy all the time as she is curious, creative and carefree. She now runs quite often instead of just walking. But, she still does it on her tip toes most of the time.
We had such a busy month with Christmas in Wichita, Christmas in Nebraska and our trip to San Diego over the New Year.
So, I guess we did not really lose December we just lost touch with Kyley's blog for a while!
Kyley is a sweetheart and a very happy girl. She loves to giggle and smile, and goof around. Mommy and daddy have shown her a few things that she thinks were too much fun as she always wants to do them. Kyley also wants to do many things on her own...she thinks she is a bit bigger/older than she really is. Mommy and daddy let her be a big girl as much as possible...as long as she isn't hurting herself or others.
Kyley has most recently discovered Youtube due to a video link that Aunt Kimmy sent to her mommy of an old New Edition video that she and her siblings used to dance too. Well, now we spend a significant amount of time every day watching videos. Not only is this a new, exciting thing for her to do, but Kyley LOVES music. It is without a doubt that we currently watch, sing with, and dance to Maroon 5's "Moves Like Jagger". She has mastered the word "again".
Kyley also loves bags. Whether they are the grocery bags, purses, whatever...she loves them. Kyley helps mommy unload the groceries by taking each item out of each bag. She loves to empty mommy or any one else's purse, and she will play for hours with it. Mommy finally found a bag Kyley's size that she puts toys, dishes, etc. in and carries it around the house.
Even despite the naughtiness at times, Kyley's mommy and daddy sure think she is sugar and spice and everything nice. Because even when she is naughty or gets into trouble, she still finds a way to melt their hearts.
